Day at Dog Beach

This photo makes my heart leap. There's a bittersweetness that fills me now every time I see Cody. With this picture, I immediately think of a day at the beach when Cody and John were taking turns burying each other in the sand up to their necks. I see their little blonde heads sticking up (this was the summer they went "platinum) out of the sand, their eyes squinting against the sun....This "Dog Day at the Beach" shows me the promise of a young man stepping out in front to grab his life - the life God meant for him. I also see an adoring family, cheering him on. Once again, it hits me how much I love Cody, and how important he is to me. Thank you, Mark, for reminding me.
P.S. What's the deal with Lila's tongue? It's kind of scary.
If your teen suffers from ADD/ADHD and also smokes cigarettes, he is 3 times more likely to abuse drugs than a child who does not smoke. Interestingly, if your ADD/ADHD teen doesn't smoke, his is less likely to abuse drugs than children without this diagnosis.
Treatment for drug addiction in this group requires initial stabilization and management of the drug addiction as well as proper treatment of the ADD/ADHD. This means the use of appropriate medication and cognitive behavioral therapy, not either or.
